War and Peace

Micron pen & Digital

12in*19in

This illustration is based on the Russian play War and Peace. The film is about Russia, in 1812, as one of the few countries not yet conquered by Napoleon's army, preparing to face Napoleon's army. In this illustration, I used a lot of symbols to metaphorize the war between France and Russia. For example, the dead pigeon represents the lost peace, the white chess horse and soldiers represent Napoleon and his army, and they are is preparing to cross the Russian border that represented by the rose.
